Bug List

1. The long checkout lines at the Westgate Shopping Center Publix that take 10 minutes to get through.
         This bug exists because of the high demand for groceries in a college town.  This causes it to take longer than normal wait lines.
2. Getting stopped in Turlington Plaza when you are in a rush to get to class.
         This is a bug mainly because I seemed to get stopped for a survey on the worst days possible; i.e. I have a quiz or presentation and am in a rush to get to class to quickly review or prepare.
3. The drainage system on 5th ave causes there to be several inches of standing water on the street after it rains.
         This is a nuisance because the flash flooding makes it difficult to use the roadway system around my apartment.
4. My sink in my apartment does not drain well even though we've called to have it fixed.
          The drainage guard was made with too few holes for drainage purposes so we cut the holes.  It worked for a few weeks but then after break the drainage of the sink slowed again so this is still a bug.
5. Gainesville traffic on Archer, sw 13th, museum, and University is very frustrating.
          Gainesville is a small city but it is incredibly difficult to get to class, restaurants, and stores.
6. Gainesville parking is also a huge difficulty.
         The zone parking is always over full and you can not park outside your zone off campus.  Also off campus students can't park on campus.  This makes it more difficult getting to on-campus events.
7. Long lines at airport security in Norfolk, VA.
         The long lines at the airport security back home because of Oceana Naval Base and Damn Neck Base in Virginia Beach, VA causes me to have to get to the airport several hours before my flight.
8. Grocery bags breaking when I'm walking eight bags in each hand to my apartment.
         I know I'm really asking a lot out of those bags trying to make it in one trip but on bag can hardly hold a gallon of milk.
9. Getting stuck behind a school bus in my home town.
         My home town is a beach town with several one land roads.  This is a bug because when I'm on my way to work or school, I'll get stuck behind a school bus every once in a while and be late.
10. The Kardashians and their ever-evolving drama.
         The Kardashians cause so much unnecessary drama.  I'm not much of a fan of drama so this makes them a bug to me.
11. When your scooter gets stolen or vandalized.
         Gainesville certainly has more crime than my hometown.  About once a week we will get a UF Alert about a gunman in the area.  I have several friends who have had to deal with issues of a vandalized or stolen scooter.
12. When you spill water on your laptop and applecare does not cover water damage.
         I spilled my glass of water all over my laptop last semester during exams week.  I had Applecare but Applecare doesn't cover water damage so I had to get a new laptop and lost most of my notes for finals week.
13. When my clothes got ruined by my old washer in Murphree.
         An old washer in Murphree caused my clothes and towels to get white spots and rust stains on them.
14. Scooting in the rain at UF.
         When it rains here at UF it becomes significantly more difficult to get around on campus because Gainesville rain is a heavy downpour rain.  Scooting in the rain causes the scoot to hydroplane and the rain feels like hail on my eyes.
15. Long waits in advising at Farrior Hall.
         The long advising walk-in waits make going to the advising office to work on your schedule or ask for advice a half-day process.
16. When it's too windy to do something outside back home in Virginia Beach.
         My hometown is a beach town and on very windy days it limits what we are able to do outside like go boating because it's too choppy or go to the beach because the sand blowing.
17. Dusk when the mosquitos come out.
         Whether I'm in Virginia Beach or at UF the mosquitos are awful and annoying around dusk time.  When I'm cleaning the boat or eating dinner outside with my family in the evening, the mosquitos are very bad because we live along the Lynnhaven River that feeds to the Chesapeake Bay where there are many marshlands.  Also, the swamp lands of Florida harbor a lot of mosquitos.
18. When your goggles fog up or get snow on them when you're snowboarding.
         This is a bug because it can be dangerous because the snow and fog inhibits your vision, particularly when you are traveling 40 plus mph.  This has almost caused me an accident before so now I try to slow down and clean off my goggles as I go down the mountain.
19. When food expires before you eat it.
         Sometimes I go to Sams Club because it is cheaper and my roommates and I are not able to finish the large quantities of Sams Club before it expires.
20. Excessive honking off campus because of Gainesville rush hour traffic.
         This is certainly a bug because early in the morning there is a lot of honking and bustle of the day in the morning and then honking during afternoon rush hour.

     I found the challenges of the assignment mainly to be with the time to come up with the detail and length of the list.  I found the assignment more difficult at first, but then it was easy to think of small "bugs" in my life.  I realized that I have more pet peeves and there are more things that bother me than I've realized.  Overall I'm a very easygoing individual, but this experiment made me realize the multitude small nuisances in the everyday life.
