2) Figure out who might have the unmet need. Patrons swimming at the beach, especially those with a lower swimming ability.
3) Come up with a list of questions.
- Have you ever felt unsafe at the beach? If so, why?
- How do you feel about the work of lifeguards?
- What is your opinion on the introduction of lifeguarding drones to help cut down on the time that it takes a lifeguard to reach the victim with a flotation device?
5) Tell us what you learned about the opportunity. I learned that my opportunity benefits public safety and is an applicable opportunity to help cut down on drownings and fatalities at the beach. My opportunity is expensive but can be used to help drag in a drowning victim and help to reduce the number of drownings at the beach per year.
6) Tell us what you learned about interviewing customers. When I was interviewing people, I could tell the people that I asked too many questions about my business were less engaged than when I asked them more about their opinions and personalized questions. The opportunity process should be tailored to always appeal to the customers as they are the consumers.
Gregory, while I really liked your opportunity idea unfortunately your videos wouldn’t load on my computer. I am from St. Augustine Beach and have a ton of friends who were lifeguards there so this product would definitely be beneficial. The only downside I see to this is training, because I’ve flown drones before and they are tough to fly and I crash them a lot :). I think this business idea could definitely benefit a lot of people and save lives because it takes a while to get out there and save someone especially if the surf is high. ReplyDeleteGreg your idea for a lifeguard drone is amazing. I do not know if I have ever heard of that idea before. I definitely think that a lifeguard drone can be more effective eyes on people that one lifeguard having to watch a bunch of people. A drone watching swimming patrons would definitely make me feel safer. It could possibly also keep an eye out for sharks. Great idea.

ReplyDeleteHi Gregory!
ReplyDeleteI really liked your idea but unfortunately, I was unable to load your videos and see your interviews. The opportunity you chose is an interesting one and I do think a lifeguard drone would definitely be something to test out. Sometimes It is difficult for a lifeguard to reach someone in time and using something like a drone could be more effective in saving lives. Here is the link to my post:
